The viewpoint Westhoek in De Panne is a peaceful and beautiful spot in the middle of the nature reserve De Westhoek.

What can you expect at viewpoint Westhoek?

From this high dune along the Ligusterpad, you look out over an open dune landscape with marram grass, low vegetation, shrubs, sandy paths and rolling dunes.

• Panoramic view over the dunes: From the platform, you have a lovely view over the open dune vegetation of the nature area De Westhoek. Here, you mainly experience the peace, space and natural variety of the dune landscape.
• In the heart of the nature reserve: The viewpoint is not located on the edge of the area, but more centrally within the reserve. This means you mainly look out over the dune landscape itself, without the sea or buildings immediately drawing your attention.
• A special dune area: De Westhoek is one of the most important nature areas on the Flemish coast. The reserve covers almost 350 hectares and is especially valuable because nearly all dune vegetation types of the Flemish coast occur here in one continuous landscape.
• Peaceful nature stop: The viewpoint is not a busy attraction, but rather a lovely place to pause for a moment during a walk. Listen to the birds, feel the sea breeze and enjoy the wide open dunes.
• Ligusterpad: The panoramic platform is located along the Ligusterpad, a walking path through an open part of the nature reserve. Along the way, you walk through sandy paths and varied dune vegetation.

For walkers, viewpoint Westhoek is a lovely highlight during a visit to the nature reserve. The view clearly shows how extensive and varied the dunes of De Panne are.

• Access: The platform is most easily reached via the entrance on the Schuilhavenlaan. From there, it is a short and easy walk to the platform.
